Buffalo Corner Reading Series

In the Spring of 2019, Gunilla was asked by Rabbi Alex Lazarus-Klein to create an event to honor the memory of Cantor Susan Wehle, a victim in the crash of Flight 3407, at Congregation Shir Shalom in Amherst, NY.

The intention was to showcase Buffalo’s great talent, as well as reach out and create a forum for cultural differences and understanding. The event was a tremendous success and grew to become a monthly series, that continues.

Like all art, poetry bridges communities and fosters tolerance. The Reading Series has become a hallmark of the congregation, helping writers find inspiration and improve their craft.
